The bike is good project began life in 2011 as a transcontinental bicycle adventure. As we pedalled from Seattle to Boston it grew into something even bigger. Life from the bike became life as we knew it, a way of engaging with the world that was much richer and honest than we had previously known. On our return to Australia we have tried to continue in the b.i.g. spirit, still happiest pedalling!

Day 49 Worland to Ten Sleep 90km

Those of you who know Wyoming will know that it is only half that distance from Worland to Ten Sleep, but an unexpected detour for roadwork left us VERY glad to reach Ten Sleep this afternoon. And to lay in the green grass under the shade of some trees was heaven! Have I mentioned I've been missing the trees? Living predominantly outside for this last 8 weeks I have grown the appreciation they deserve. They are shelter from wind, rain and hail, as well as burning sun. It is always a relief to me to find rest under a tree. Kerstin impressed me, the chef and the waitress at The Brass Plum, this mornings breakfast house, when the first breakfast she ate wasn't enough, and so she promptly polished off a second one! So filled to the brim with pancakes, bacon, two eggs, hash browns, toast and coffee she was one happy little hobbit. The ceaseless upwardly rolling hills and hot sun quickly burned off this feast, and the unchanging scenery of dry, yellow, low scrub left us with nothing to take pictures of but ourselves ;)
