The bike is good project began life in 2011 as a transcontinental bicycle adventure. As we pedalled from Seattle to Boston it grew into something even bigger. Life from the bike became life as we knew it, a way of engaging with the world that was much richer and honest than we had previously known. On our return to Australia we have tried to continue in the b.i.g. spirit, still happiest pedalling!

A few facts & figures to support the b.i.g. 2011 story. There is so much data and information to be processed post this journey that we find it difficult to narrow it down to the most relevant ones. But thanks to all kinds of questions that we have been asked, we figured out what people are mostly interested in. The following data collection is not final but it is a start...

Reaching 4,000 miles in Marine City, MI

  • Coldest temperature: 34 degrees Fahrenheit (= 1 degree Celsius), Glacier National Park, MT
  • Hottest temperature: 105 degrees Fahrenheit (= 40 degrees Celsius), Devils Tower, WY
