Ugh! The early start that was planned is delayed by two flat tyres, there is also something wrong with my rear brake, there is a headwind and it is bloodly cold. I am not in the best frame of mind today, plan is to make it and not chuck a wobbly. All credit to Kerstin, who kept her game face on all day, even when it REALLY got crappy. Difficult riding on poorly maintained roads with little or no shoulder, BIG thank you to all the lovely drivers who went a bit slower and left plenty of space. There were probably views and wildlife but trust me, to stay upright I was using all my concentration. The final 4 miles into Whitefish were just ridiculously bad, I could have cried in fear and frustration. We limped into town, and directly to the bike shop for some emergency treatment for poor Audrey, and a bit of a sit down and pull yourself together time for me. Patched up and armed with maps and food, we head for camp, can't find it, of course, so ride a few extra uphill miles just for shits and giggles. But a hot shower, yummy mushroom risotto (Kerstin's specialty) and some family Skype time and my outlook is much brighter. Tomorrow we head for Glacier National Park and all reports so far suggest a truly awesome experience awaits us. There are even suggestions of temperatures above 25C on next week! Hello Summer! I didn't entirely lose my sense of humor today, could still see the funny side enough to capture this photo.

Jess and I really look forward to reading about your latest adventures. I usually read them out to her as she's studying ( right now! ) and doing the housewife thing, eagerly awaiting the next installment. Love to you both.
