The bike is good project began life in 2011 as a transcontinental bicycle adventure. As we pedalled from Seattle to Boston it grew into something even bigger. Life from the bike became life as we knew it, a way of engaging with the world that was much richer and honest than we had previously known. On our return to Australia we have tried to continue in the b.i.g. spirit, still happiest pedalling!

Riverton Rendezvous - part II

This is just a short note to thank Tom Hoskins, our camping neighbor at the Sleeping Bear campground in Lander, for sharing his wealth of Wyoming and South Dakota insider know-how with us. We are now even more looking forward to exploring the unknown and hidden sights along our chosen route in the days and weeks ahead. It is these kind of exchanges with the locals that have enriched our journey with so many unforgettable moments and thousands of camera clicks. Thank you Tom!

  1. Wow, small world - with your Paps being in the place you were writing from and we over here, getting ready for our own rendezvous with Harry Potter tomorrow!! How exciting about Cadel Evans. I'm wrecked, staying up into the night watching the race end, that last sprint and the Presentations. Ironically, I'd just spent the afternoon writing a Grant application for the Ballarat Scenic (some call them Senile) Cyclists group to have their bicycle trailer extended to carry 30 bikes (from present 16 capacity). Not even in the Club but being good at writing I help groups out. Of course Vic and Oz are abuzz about Cadel so it looks good timing for this application. Love the descriptions and this will make the best "ricordo" of your trip. xxxxx

  3. It is great to read that you are getting the inside tips to those places that many never see as they hurry on by. Bikes are good for that even with out the tips, but tips add greatly!
I can not imagine this trip if you were at all introverts!
