The bike is good project began life in 2011 as a transcontinental bicycle adventure. As we pedalled from Seattle to Boston it grew into something even bigger. Life from the bike became life as we knew it, a way of engaging with the world that was much richer and honest than we had previously known. On our return to Australia we have tried to continue in the b.i.g. spirit, still happiest pedalling!

Day 51 Rest Day in Buffalo + Happy Anniversary!

Today was a genuine rest day, no tourist endeavors, no big list of things to do, just Kerstin and I and some quality time laying around. We took full advantage of our motel room and slept in, yay! A morning spent in the local library revealed more books I want to read, and time to finish one of them. A tootling trip down the road bought us to a really great campground, and a site in the shade, with thick green grass and a stream running by = 2 happy campers. A dinner of homemade curry and a bottle of chilled American Pinot Gris = 2 "happy" women, who could sleep under an awning of stars the night was so mild.
