The bike is good project began life in 2011 as a transcontinental bicycle adventure. As we pedalled from Seattle to Boston it grew into something even bigger. Life from the bike became life as we knew it, a way of engaging with the world that was much richer and honest than we had previously known. On our return to Australia we have tried to continue in the b.i.g. spirit, still happiest pedalling!

Day 6 Mazama to Twisp 45km

A slow and easy day today, to aid in recovery from yesterday. A late start after a lovely sleep in the log cabin and a complementary continental breakfast, we rolled out of Mazama at 10:30 with the sun shining on us. Passed through the absolutely charming town of Winthrope (see photo) and on to Twisp, who greeted us with open arms and we made ourselves comfortable at the Riverbend RV park, with a camping site overlooking the swollen river. Very excited to see our first Loons (waterbirds) right next to our campsite. Time today for laundry, yay (stinky factor high), and wifi at campsite meant lots of blogging done ;)

  1. Winthrop is a lovely place! I am so glad that you were able to experience it! Say, what kinds of bikes are you riding with?
I am fully enjoying your notes along the way. I know the path you are riding, as I have driven it many times over the years. It is gorgeous!
